1) Introduction

In recent times, many Ethiopians have fallen victim to daily Telegram account breaches, resulting in stolen private information and fraudulent activities, even scams impersonating their contacts. If your account is hacked and you attempt to set up a new one with the same number, recovering your data is highly unlikely. Without proper safeguards, you could be the next. 2) How can you protect yourself from Telegram theft and reduce risks?

A. Enable Two-Step Verification (Must Do!) Steps: Settings > Privacy & Security > Two-Step Verification. ⚠ Use a STRONG password (not just 4 digits!).

B. Remove Unknown Contacts: Delete inactive/unknown people; they could be hackers monitoring you.

C. Check Active Sessions & Log Out Strangers. Steps: Settings > Devices > Terminate suspicious logins.

D. NEVER click suspicious links, even if sent by a "friend," because their account may be hacked!

E. Restrict “Who Can Add You to Groups” Steps: Settings > Privacy & Security > Groups > "My Contacts/Nobody”.

F. Uninstall Unknown Apps from your Devices (Usually Mobile devices)

G. Update your Telegram app frequently: This will improve security.

H. Don’t connect to public, usually password-free Wi-Fi

I. Beware of fake support messages: Telegram will never ask for your login code.

3) Telegram Account Recovery

Log out ALL devices (Settings --> Devices)
Change your 2FA (two-factor authentication) password immediately.

2. እንዴት እራስዎን ከቴሌግራም ስርቆት መጠበቅና ስጋት መቀነስ ይችላሉ?

ሀ. ባለ ሁለት ደረጃ ማረጋገጫን ይተግብሩ!

Steps: Settings > Privacy & Security > Two-Step Verification. ⚠ የሚጠቀሙት የይለፍ ቃል ጠንካራ ይሁን!

ለ. የማታቋቸውን Contacts አጥፋ፡ እርስን የሚከታተሉ ሰርጎ ገቦች ሊሆኑ የሚችሉ ወይም Hack የተደረጉ ሊሆኑ ይችላሉና።

ሐ. ከማታውቋቸው mobile/computer አካውንታችሁን አስወጡ! Steps: Settings > Devices > Terminate suspicious logins.

መ. አጠራጣሪ ሊንኮችን በጭራሽ አይጫኑ፡ ከቅርብ ጓደኛ ቢላክም!

ሠ. እርስዎን ማን ወደተለያዩ "Telegram Group" Add ማድረግ እንደሚችል ይገድቡ! Steps: Settings > Privacy & Security > Groups > "My Contacts/Nobody”.

ረ. ያልታወቁ መተግበሪያዎችን ያስወግዱ! (በተለይ ከmobile ስልካችሁ)

ስ. የቴሌግራም Applicationንዎን ያዘምኑ!

ሸ. ከነፃ WI-FI (Password ከሌላቸው) Connect አያድርጉ!

ቀ. ከሐሰተኛ የድጋፍ ጥያቄዎች ይጠንቀቁ፡ የቴሌግራም የመግቢያ ኮድን አያጋሩ!

3) Hack ከተደረግን ምን እናድርግ?

ቴሌግራምዎ ከተጠለፈ ጊዜ ሳይወሰዱ በሚከተሉት ይተግብሩ፡-

ከሁሉንም ይውጡ (Settings > Devices)
የእርስዎን 2FA (ሁለት ዙር ማረጋገጫዎችዎን) ይለውጡ!
በቀጥታ ከቴሌግራም ድርጅት በ(support@telegram.org) ወይም @SMStelegram_bot (https://t.me/SMStelegram_bot) ድጋፍን ያግኙ። እርዳታ ሲጠይቁ የእርስዎን ቴሌግራም ቁጥርዎንና መታወቂያዎን ያካትቱ።
